Tao 65

Originally, those who aligned themselves with Tao did not try to pass their wisdom on to others.
It was thought that this wisdom would be manipulated and distorted for clever purposes.

Leaders who use cleverness intervene and take advantage of society.
Leaders who do not use cleverness selflessly allow for change that benefits society.
To understand this is to understand the basis of Virtue.

For society, the path of Virtue is long.
When society follows it, it moves toward wholeness; returning to oneness.
